As a medical, surgical nursing student you will complete clinical rotations in hospitals or medical centers with the supervision of a Registered Nurse. There are two types of rotations; clinical and educational. In a clinical rotation, you will spend several days in a hospital or medical center under the supervision of a registered nurse. During this time you will be given direct supervision by a registered nurse and you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned in medical school. During an educational rotational, you will spend two days in a medical center under the guidance of a registered medical assistant. This will allow you to apply what you have learned in medical school directly to clinical practice.
